Family-Friendly Hotel Rooms That Fit More Than 4
Party of five? Six? Sorry. From roller coasters to hotel rooms, the world is built for twos and fours. The odd family member usually has to sit next to a screaming stranger or sleep on the floor … or, worse yet, a pull-out sofa bed.
Sure, you could pay for adjoining rooms. But that quickly increases the cost of your family vacation, and kids are expensive enough as it is. Depending on the ages of your children and/or the parent-to-child ratio, that might not be a viable choice anyway.
Check out these hotels with family-friendly room options and amenities for your next vacation. Our family has enjoyed stays in all of them!

Kids will instantly change their tune from “Are we there yet?” to “Can we hit the pool?” when they see it has a waterslide! Other family-friendly amenities include a small arcade, a ping-pong table and free breakfast. Four-legged family members are also welcome in select rooms.

Riverhouse Lodge | Bend, Oregon
Two twin-over-queen bunk beds, sleeps up to six
The Deschutes River runs through this property, and even though the bunkrooms don’t have views of it, you are just steps away from a colorful bridge that crosses it. There is also a viewing area with outdoor rockers that anyone can use. (Still, it is worth noting that some of the double queen rooms have private patios with a fire pit overlooking the river.) Riverhouse Lodge has both an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as nightly “dive-in” movies. There are various events at the on-site restaurant, too.
